2013 ‘Pussy Hat’ Prophesy & More

Hello internet,

I’m sure many of you are frightened, but don’t worry, it’s all worked out.

I haven’t posted a blog since November, after the election.  No, I’ve been setting back watching things develop.  Now, I don’t trust one source of news completely, so I look around and compare what different sources are covering and reporting.  After the massive fail and blatant proof of bias, I have thrown off mainstream media outlets such as the Washington Post, CNN, The New York Times, almost completely.  I still venture over to see what spin these networks are putting on current events, but that’s about it.  I’ve heard from a little bird, that these company’s audiences are all suffering and have dwindled down to almost nothing, but that’s only what I’ve heard.

Some interesting developments concerning groups affected, or some might say warped, by prolonged exposure to identity politics have surfaced again the last week or so, and these goons are really showing their asses off.  In fact, after setting in contemplation since the November 8th election, I have discovered more examples of prophesy contained in my 2013 – 2016 art creations, namely in the collections, “Art Is My Way Of Chucking Civilization Out The Window” and of course, “Apoko-Lips”.    Today well take a look at one in particular.

ckirk_csfifteen_b This large-scale museum piece was painted with oil between the years of 2012 and 2013.  It’s titled “It’s Like Having A Gun You Can Pet #2″ or “Pet Gun 2” for short.  Now you can clearly see, in the left-hand corner, the fleeing female, painted with much less fervor, wearing a ‘pussy hat’.  Now before you call me a misogynist, let me tell you that I fully support feminism in its classical form, but what we’re dealing with today is not classic feminism.  No the ideology has been gradually altered via long-term social engineering methods and now we have neo feminism, which is essentially the philosophy that women should be elevated above their male counterparts and are the superior gender.  Now this is totally unbalanced and goes against philosophies that have illustrated the importance of balance in nature for almost 3000 years.  If you factor in the point that there are and have been, far more individuals of male gender, on the planet, at any given time, as there were Jews to be murdered during Adolf Hitler’s reign of terror, the philosophy of neo feminism is clearly shown to be on a higher level of ‘fucked up’ and more dangerous to the human species than Nazi ideology ever was. There is a reason Wonder Woman left Amazon Island ladies.

Anyway, here’s the bad news.  My prophesies generally manifest in some form or other and this 2013  oil piece doesn’t paint a pretty picture for the neo feminists or their ‘pussy hat’ dupes.  It’s clear the pussyhatter is fleeing.  She’s fading.  Her pursuing counterpart is richly colored and the oil is thick.  There is a prehistoric terror bird called Gastornis, which was an apex predator that had no natural  predators of its own.  The masked figure rides the feathery beast like a horse, symbolizing power, and birds flock behind, giving chase as well.  In ancient mystery traditions from around the world, feathers, wings, or birds were symbolic of higher intelligence, so basically, your incredibly flawed ideology is squared off against balance.  The dynamic combination of power and intelligence is against you. You are a piece of the #goonpopulous.  You are beta bitches, and the real, authentic women of the world will not be swayed by your quest for gender supremacy.

To give you a metaphoric example of what I’m talking about, I’ll provide you with a visual aid.  Here’s an crude stop-motion cartoon I made back in 2013.

Now, if you, the reader, think I am being harsh on these misguided simpletons, take a look at some examples from the women’s march that you probably won’t catch watching mainstream media stations such as CNN, reading drivel like the Washington Post, or hanging around in such internet ghettos as Facebook.

Fox Full Of Wind

Hello again art lovers,

I hope this week has been good for you.

I finished up a piece for the new “MR MIRACLE Mythos” arm of my Apoko-Lips series.  I’m low on canvas, so I painted over an old canvas that I had played over for the last two years.  Because of this, the texture was so rough, that initially , I had a great deal of trouble.  I pretty much wrote it off as a failure last week and went back to the drawing board with charcoal and paper.  I figured I would hash out the theme a bit more and pick the oil painting up once I had a new canvas to work on.  I’m compulsive once I initiate a painting, so of course, I started work on the piece again.  After a bit of playing around, I found a way to adjust to the rough canvas.  I’m reasonably happy with how the new work turned out.

All NEW Painting! The MR MIRACLE Mythos – “Excappare”

Hello again art lovers,

I hope all is well in your worlds.

I finally finished up the LARGE-SCALE painting I started last December.  I operated a little differently than I normally do.  I usually have a major painting mapped out from top to bottom prior to even picking up a brush, but I had very little planned before returning to this piece.  Pretty much everything other than the figure in black and the rectangle behind him manifested as the painting progressed.  I went with my intuition and it felt good.

Anyway, enough about process, there’s a high quality image of my first piece completed in 2016 and a brief statement about Apoko-Lips below.

http://www.ckirkart.com/

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Apoko-Lips initiated toward the end of 2013. I was suddenly struck, then obsessed with pictorial concepts of strange messengers. These concepts came to fruition in a collection I now call the Apoko-Lips – Primer. These large oil paintings featured harbingers who foreshadowed awe-inspiring change. Change arrived, wasn’t noticed until after the fact, and has yet to depart. Since then, the ongoing series Apoko – Lips became for me, a collection of allegories depicting transmutation through personalized interpretation of archaic symbolism. Apoko-Lips directed my focus away from contemporary culture, the velocity of information and life lived online through high-tech touch screens, and shifted my contemplation inward. Actions and movements interrupted by glitch, are emphasized in the 2014/2015 Initiation works as a “Note to self” or memento of the physical body, the external world, and to reboot, or expand consciousness. The 2015 Behold The Son Of GRID additions to Apoko-Lips feature outlandish entities who reveal declarations that could be considered confusing, presumptuous, and vitriolic. The experimentation that brought forth the Behold The Son Of GRID works eventually led to upheaval and discord in every area of my personal life, drove me to the edge of sanity, and educated me, through what I can only describe as “Tough love”, on laws of the universe. Fortunately, change is the only constant and I’ve risen from the ashes as an old bard with epics full of metaphor, monsters, and glory in Apoko-Lips – The MR MIRACLE Mythos.

Hans Christian Andersen Is Turning In His Grave

Hello again dear readers,

At one point in time I would’ve scoffed at the art I’ve featured below, but at some point, about a year ago, I experienced a paradigm shift, in art appreciation at least.  I’m not sure how the shift happened or why, but I’m glad that it did.  I discovered tons of art that I either never knew existed, or didn’t care about because of personal prejudices.

You’re all going to laugh at me for this, but the experience of looking at art with a new pair of eyes has suddenly reminded me of that frothy emotional song “A Whole New World” from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”.

Hans Christian Andersen is turning in his grave and just for the record, I had a little sister who had the video, so screw you…. that’s how I know about it!

Anyway, in all seriousness folks, I ran across the work of Tom Friedman sometime a while back. I liked most of what I saw, but I didn’t realize how much I liked the work until I actually read the mediums he used to create the pieces. The artist carves stuff out of styrofoam, cuts up multiple objects to create much larger duplicates and makes some pretty stimulating sculptures out of construction paper. He even creates art from colorful balls he has stolen!

Anyway, I’m glad I found myself on his page at Luhring Augustine.

Maybe you’ll like Friedman’s work to.

New Naked Lunch Limited Edition Prints & The Fall Sale Of 2014

Hello again dear readers,

I hope you’ve all had a good week.

I’m very happy.  I received my test print of the popular piece “Naked Lunch” and it is unbelievable.  It looks identical to the original.  The printers at Static Medium captured all the texture and detail!  I’ve decided to go ahead and release an edition of 10.  One has already sold, so there are currently only nine available.  The print measures 24″ x 11″ and is on heavy archival paper. Each print will be signed, numbered and are priced at $90 plus shipping.

I am also considering a second option of a much larger print with a smaller edition.  If you’d like to discuss the larger option, contact me at info@ckirkart.com

In other news, I have a lot of new experimental work lying around half-finished and I’m a little light on supplies at the moment.  I guess that can be the downside to experimentation.  Anyway, because of this, I have decided to have a sale on art works this fall on facebook.  Works will be temporarily be discounted until midnight on Monday, October the 13th. If you see anything you just have to have, personal message me on facebook or email info@ckirkart.com.

Nude Angels With Shaved Pubes Riding Flying Musical Doomsday Apparatus’

Hello again dear readers,

Despite the fact that I don’t believe a word of it, I’ve always been fascinated with the imagery that the book of revelations stirs up in the brain.  Read the excerpt below and you’ll see what I mean.

Revelation 16:1

1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

Now that that’s out-of-the-way, I have to mention that I’m really excited. After working on my interpretation of the excerpt above off and on for most of the year, I finally finished up the second incarnation of studies for the 7 trumpeting angels that make their fabulous entrance after the opening of the 7th seal.   I also just finished scanning the pieces at high-resolution for presentation and hopefully enlargement at some point.

I know a year sounds like a long time to work on something but a lot went into the pieces.  The first phase of studies was initially created as a sort of collage. You see, each piece is composed from dozens of re appropriated photographs.  I spent a long time searching for imagery, piecing them together and deciding on the composition, which changed frequently.

I also took measures to personalize each individual re-appropriated photo I used in order completely make the work my own.

The imagery I assembled is very literal and showcases for me at least, how unbelievable the whole concept seems when it’s taken literally. I tried to remove all the fear/creep-factor that’s associated with the subject of the seven seals out of the equation so that all you have left is simply a modern artist’s interpretation of the literal imagery described, which kind of looks like something you’d see in a super hero comic book. Of course, I added Jack Kirby/New Gods-style apparatus and to reference current public pubic preferences, made sure the angels all had shaved vaginas, but that’s neither here nor there.

I also decided to reference the blue stylings of Yves Klein.
I think the reference to Klein adds one more historic layer to the work despite the fact that it has absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter but everything to do with the nude women and the color blue.  The Klein reference was a last-minute decision and I’m still not sure it was the right one for these composition,
but the work need to be completed and I was tired of dragging the project out.

The final phase was to assimilate these fragmented works into seven single pieces.  I chose printmaking to do so.  Later, I embellished the work with micron pen, graphite, acrylic and watercolor.  Finally I sealed them all with Elmer’s glue and did the necessary scanning.  The works shown are the second incarnation.  I’m hoping to eventually enlarge the pieces.

I’m currently calling them “Yves Angels” but only because I haven’t found a more clever name as of yet, but hopefully I will.

So, check out the images below if nude angels with shaved pubes riding flying musical doomsday apparatus’ is something you’d like to experience.

Popular piece “Naked Lunch” Available as Limited Edition Prints?

Hello again dear readers,

Last week I posted an image of a new piece I had been working on.  I was happy with the result.  “Naked Lunch” was very popular on different social media sites.  In fact, the sexy mixed media piece is probably one of the first finished works that I have been really happy with this year.  Anyway, without making this post too long, I’ll get to the point.  Because of the public response to “Naked Lunch”, I am considering making a small number of limited edition prints of the piece available.

I’m not sure exactly what size these prints will be, so I’ll have contact my printer but from past experience, I’m sure a moderate size print would run collectors between 60 and 90 dollars.  Anyway, before making any final decisions, I’m hoping to hear from readers and followers to gauge response and opinions.

If a limited edition print is something you would be interested in, please email me at info@ckirkart.com

Below is the original piece “Naked Lunch”.

I uploaded a pretty large image so you can see all of the texture and detail.  You can even click it a second time to really zoom in.
