Hello all,

Just doing a quick press to tell you my new interview with BOTCAST is up and ready to read!  Tristown Dynamite, who I’ve known through the tobacco pipe smoking community for the last couple years, was the creative mind behind the interview.  Usually with interviews, I am emailed a list of questions to answer….which is fine.  I appreciate doing any interview that comes my way.

That being said, I was pleasantly surprised with Tristown’s easy going back and forth emailing.  It was really more like we were having a conversation….which was nice.  Tristown also showed off some of his creative writing skills… which impressed me quite a bit.  I have to say my exchange with Tristown has been the most engaging Q&A I’ve done to date.

Hello all,

I’m just blogging to announce that I will have a never-before-seen collage piece in the “Black Christmas” group exhibit held at Copro Gallery.    I am very excited as this is the first time I have shown with Copro and the flyer above was advertised in Juxtapoz magazine.  The show has an all star line up and should prove to be an interesting blend of art.  ”Black Christmas opens December 10 from 8 to 11:30 pm and runs through December 31.

“Halo 2″, 18 x 24″, charcoal, coffee, & collage on 100lb acid free Bristol, 2011

Hello all,

Black Friday is upon us!  I’m not one to go out and drudge through that madness…especially after chowing down on Turkey and dressing with the family.  Instead, I figured I’d keep with the BLACK theme by leaking a few of pieces that were done with a heavy hand welding BLACK charcoal. These photos are of recent art works from upcoming collections “Halo”, “Human”, “Animal”, “Moreau”, and “Vonnegut”.  The full collections are still not finished, but look for more photos in the coming weeks.  I figure I’ll have some new stuff on the website soon and will make sure to announce the release officially.  Until then…here’s a piece from each collection.

I just wanted to do a quick post to let you know there are a couple preliminary works for my upcoming “Human” Collection that have popped up and are available for purchase.  These works measure 8 1/2″ by 11″, were created using charcoal, prisma, and tape on 150lb. acid free card stock.  Despite the differences in amount of detail and media, these works were crucial in developing the look and techniques applied to my “Human” Collection.

Hello all,

I am extremely excited at the moment.  As many of you know, I’ve been working out of the public eye, for the most part, for the last two or three months.  Last year when Fall arrived and I begin on the 2011 collection…I was glum, insecure, and found it hard to get started.  This year however, is very different.  I already have two nice oils almost done and a handful of work on bristol vellum and card stock completed.  I figure next years collection will be broke into a few different bodies of work like “Halo”, “Wrath”, and “Human” for instance.  I’m still not 100% on that though.  I’m still keeping things under wraps, but I’m sure I’ll release some pictures soon….after all…the year is almost over.

I also wanted to tell you guys to keep an eye out because like last year...I will be holding a Facebook “Repost” contest.  Once I release the art and have it available on my website, I will draw from the list of Facebook users who helped repost the link….and some lucky stiff will get an original piece of art from my 2010 collection at no cost to them.  If this sounds like something you’d be interested in…..keep and eye out for contest details.

I just wanted to do a quick blog about my new video.  It’s a sneak peak at the first oil painting for my upcoming collection.  The piece is pretty much finished, but oil dries slowly and I won’t be able to varnish it until next year, so “Hell Hath No Fury” won’t be available for purchase until 2012.

I am pleased to announce that 3 new studies are now available via 5 Pieces Gallery.  The Studies have not been featured on my website and are among the last works that will be released in 2011.  The pieces are of different sizes, two are on paper and one was done on Bristol Vellum with Spray paint, prisma, and charcoal.  The pieces are “Wrath/Halo” preliminary ideas for upcoming works in 2012 which will most likely be composed of a handful of small collections.

In other news….there is only one Hyena piece still available!  ”Hyena 1″ was done much earlier in the year, was created with charcoal, and acrylic on Builder’s Paper, and is also available via 5 Pieces Gallery.

Hello all,

It’s been a while since I’ve done a blog postl.  I’ve been pretty busy in the studio working on a collection of all new oil paintings for 2012!  I’ve also been documenting the process of all these new works with video…so that should be interesting.  Anyway, I just wanted to shoot out a quick few words letting you know that Red Propeller Gallery has decided to represent and manage sales of 5 of my favorite pieces from 2011.  This works out good for me as I am extremely busy in the studio now.

It’s been 100 plus degrees for almost 40 days straight.  I can’t tolerate the heat so I have abandoned my studio until Fall.  Last summer I didn’t even pick up a pencil but,… that approach proved to create some difficulty for me once it was time to start painting again.  This summer I want to keep the blood flowing so I’ve been doing some drawings and studies upstairs in the AC to pass the time.  I wanted to share a few of my favorites.
